MHA's Featured Group Practice is Jewish Family Services of Greater Charlotte
Life doesn’t always go as planned and no one understands that better than Jewish Family Services (JFS), who has been "the heart of Charlotte's Jewish community” for almost 38 years. So it is no surprise that at JFS, their offerings are varied and unique, designed to meet the needs of children, teens, adults and seniors; responding to both immediate, crisis situations, as well as chronic, on-going mental health conditions. JFS has one goal in mind - to strengthen and empower individuals and families.
Jewish Family Services operates with a foundation based on Jewish values. However, recognizing the importance of responding to the diversity of the Charlotte community and our community’s complex needs, JFS counseling services are available to the greater Charlotte community regardless of religious preference or affiliation.
The JFS COUNSELING CENTER is comprised of professionally trained, licensed therapists with targeted areas of expertise able to respond to the multitude of issues that impact our day-to-day lives. JFS therapists not only have expertise in treating the more common conditions such as depression, anxiety and PTSD but also bring experience working with traumatized children and youth, families impacted by domestic violence, the LGBTQ population and seniors. JFS is also able to provide a limited capacity to treat people who require the use of sign language.
The JFS COUNSELING CENTER accepts most private insurances, Medicaid and Medicare.
In addition to The Counseling Center, JFS provides specialized services specific to the Jewish community including Case Management with a Food Pantry, Senior Outreach and community programs which embrace Jewish traditions and culture.
Jewish Family Services is supported by individual donors, grants and the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.
