MHA's Response to the Tragedy at UNC Charlotte
MHA kicks off Mental Health Month with a response to yesterday’s shooting at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In the wake of such a tragedy, many in the community are asking “how could such a tragedy occur?” While we don’t know the answers to many of the questions, we know that after a traumatic event the students, faculty and others at UNC Charlotte will experience many emotions.
The best thing the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community can do right now is to recognize the trauma that those who are part of the UNC Charlotte family are going through. It is important to get professional help if you feel like you are unable to function or perform basic activities of daily living. MHA provides supports to the community by connecting those in need to resources, by calling 704-365-3454 or visiting the mental health provider directory on our website.
