Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services, located on a beautiful 16-acre campus in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, specializes in psychiatric treatment for adolescents and adults. With an expansion in 2017 to over 160 beds, the adult inpatient programs now include a new Mood Disorders program, Trauma Recovery Program, Dual Diagnosis, Seniors, and General psychiatric services. Last year, their adolescent program grew significantly. This program now has 52 beds, includes daily academic instruction during the school year, along with individual workbooks to address specific diagnoses. Old Vineyard also has outpatient adult programs with half and full-day programs for mental health and dual diagnosis.
The facility provides a relaxing, comforting environment to its patients with treatment involving Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Recreation therapy, Pet therapy and outdoor courtyards on all units. On their Trauma Recovery and Mood Disorders programs, individuals also experience yoga, deep breathing, and muscle relaxation techniques. Each patient has a dedicated treatment team with a psychiatrist, therapist, and nurse to serve patients with compassion and the highest quality of care. With a variety of programs available, Old Vineyard Behavioral Health Services is able to improve the lives of individuals with various mental health challenges. Family involvement and community provider collaboration is strongly encouraged.
Their newest programs are Mood Disorders, for individuals with bipolar or major depression with no psychoses as well as our Trauma Recovery Program which is designed for adults who have experienced physical, emotional, or sexual trauma. Treatment focuses on Stress and Symptom Management, Emotion Regulation, Thought Distortion, and Self-Esteem. It is the first dedicated inpatient trauma program in North Carolina.
Old Vineyard offers adults a continuum of care through our outpatient services with Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. Old Vineyard's treatment programs are eligible for coverage under most major insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, TRICARE®, Magellan, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Medicare and most other plans. OV also accept Medicaid from most counties. For families outside of Forsyth County choosing to stay near their loved one at Old Vineyard, they will provide a referral to The Ronald McDonald House and SECU Family House for lodging.
